wow....both guys have an amazing voice!!... and I must say an strong personality. In Potts case is incredible how he gained streght by doing something he both wanted and feared; his resilience helped him to overcome his difficulties and fears by making him realize that he had nothing to lose but to gain when one is in a disadvantaged situation. When he faced his problems instead of crying his heart out, he changed his life.
ReplyDeleteAs for Emmanuel's case, it's notorious how his mother (mainly) and his brother are the reason of him smiling while he face every stone in his path. I'm not saying that all Emmanuel's merits have not been achieved by his own; I'm saying that an strong person plus the support from people we love is a very powerful combination.

ReplyDeleteResilience has been present throughout Paul’s life. He wanted to be a full time singer, but he knew that the way to make it wouldn’t be easy. Nevertheless, he realized that he was talented enough to do what he loved , so he just trusted in himself and thought that he had nothing to lose. That’s why he paid expensive singing lessons with his savings and then he saw In Britain’s Got Talent the perfect chance to show his beautiful voice.
Emmanuel
Emmanuel is a young man who has had a hard life and who has an undeniable gift, which is his great voice. He was born in the middle of a war and that’s the reason of his physical limitations. What is remarkable about Emmanuel is not only his voice or his talent, is that he doesn’t feel as a different person because of his "limitations" and that makes me think that what really matters is not what we are, but what we think we are. Therefore, in order to be successful and happy people we must have a positive image of ourselves and confidence in our strengths and abilities.
Emmanuel and his brother lived in an orphanage and his physical disability seems to be genetic, not beacuse of war...

Mr. Potts’s willpower, his perseverance and his friends' encouragement are relevant factors which made him resistant and gave him the strength to stride forward his dream not matter all the obstacles. Emmanuel’s Case
It is not a secret that Emmanuel lived a real hell when he was a kid but so often people who has reached the bottom have no choice but to climb to the top. It is said that tree's roots need to dig deeply to hell twice as much than tree’s height so its branches can touch the sky. I believe that was Emmanuel lived. In the hell, he found the company of a lovely mother, brother and new family who played the role of an airstrip helping him to lift and flying by his own.

ReplyDeletePaul Potts has a great talent,people who know, enjoy and share their talent despite of adversities of life, will have the world at their feet. Paul has talent not only in his voice, not only for manage an audience, he has the talent for withstand and overcome all the obstacles or barriers that there are in life before reach your goals or the success.
Recilience help him to endure and overcome the pain of his accidentes, and all the insecurities about his triumph; he stood up to take the control of his life, and do what he had wanted to do all his life.
This guy spent more than he could pay in singing lessons, however this man is an excellent tenor who has nothing to envy to his master Pavarotti.

I already had watched this video, and I had to cry again, cry and smile, I don´t know why, if it is about happiness for him, or if it is about how we make our lives as absurd or pathetic as we can for nothing.
This guy and his brother had to endure and overcome all the pain and the consecuences of war since they were children; but they found an angel, a hero, who is their mom, an angel who battled against the odds to help their children. Recilience in this case is not attributed only to the protagonist of the video Emmanuel, but also his brother who not only supports but lives firsthand all the misfortunes, the scars, the traces and the concecuences that left and involve have been born with phisycal limitations. Recilience is also a word that is related to their mother, who accompanied and raised them throughout their complicated lives.
Emmanuel and his brother have not their complete arms, or hands, or fingers or their legs or their feet, but still they have goals, have dreams, and most importantly, they get up every day with determination and full commitment to continue.
Emmanuel has a great talent, his voice and his story touched the audience and the jury of the tv show, that's why he passed, and gained the oportunity to be in the reality "X Factor"

Resilience is the ability to overcome those situations that cause pain, grief, losses and sadness.
ReplyDeleteResilience was present in Paul Potts when he overcame those events when he suffered a lot. With the encouragement of his friends he struggle successfully against the difficulties that he had with the benign tumor and break of his collarbone. Besides, he got what he wanted to be, recognized by his voice.
The case of Emmanuel is another situation of resilience because they explain how difficult has been the life of this person since he was a little child. And even though he has suffered a lot because of the lack of some parts of his body, he had overcome this with the help of his family.

DeleteResilience was present in Paul Potts’ life for so many reasons. Maybe the most commons examples of resilience in his life are relating with how he became an opera singer despite of has had several troubles with his health; troubles that a single person as you or me maybe, never could not overcome in order to make true our dreams. Because there are really a few in the world like him, I mean that have his strength and tenacity. Suffer a tumour and break his collar bone and after that just sing opera as well as he does it, is something that just resilience people as him can do.
ReplyDeleteI can consider many factors that bestow on Emmanuel a resilient person. One of them, is his ability to overcome all his physical limitations without allow that these ones interfered in his goals and projects that he had for his life; and another is the big vocation for the music and his wishes of triumph and success that allow him to forget the bad things of his past including the war and the fights that his country was living during his early childhood. Showing the cleverness he had and his delirium of grandeur.
